Since 2000, Nicole Johnson has been a part of a national women’s conference and has performed her invigorating one-woman shows to sold-out audiences across the United States, having reached more than three million people. Her on-stage portrayals of women — overextended by life but resilient with determination to overcome any obstacle — are infused with empathy, humor, insight and hope. She brings the audience right into her characters’ hearts and minds as she addresses issues ranging from the “invisibility” of motherhood to finding unconditional love.
Nicole’s performances are filled with warmth, comedy and poignancy, whether it’s her coffee shop waitress dishing out southern-fried wisdom about the treasure of close girlfriends, or a woman who suddenly finds herself in a boxing ring fighting against cancer — the “heavyweight champion of the world.”
Stepping into the Ring, is one of seven DVDs produced by Nicole that have sold more than 125,000 copies. Stepping into the Ring contains numerous individual performances, including the title track, which continues to be one of Nicole’s most popular pieces. This live-audience DVD presentation takes viewers on one woman’s battle against breast cancer and is uncanny in expressing the pain and ultimate redemption of this ordeal. Nicole’s other DVD performances illustrate the multi-faceted challenges facing today’s women as they cope with issues of control and value.
Fueled by a passion to create and communicate, Nicole is also a successful author, with seven books that have sold more than 300,000 copies. Her best-selling debut, Fresh Brewed Life (Thomas Nelson Publishers, 1999), conveys the overall understanding that many avenues exist for finding relief from life’s daily grind. Challenging but practical, this wake-up-and-smell-the-coffee guide was the genesis of Nicole’s message to live life to its fullest.
Her fifth book, The Invisible Woman (W Publishing, 2005), continues to provide encouragement to those hard-working women who feel unseen and underappreciated in their roles as mothers. Based on the immensely popular sketch that Nicole performs on stage, this book affirms women in their daily responsibilities for their families.
Of Nicole’s seven releases, four have already been translated into Spanish. She is currently at work on her eighth book.
